Clear aligner treatment is usually reserved for treatment cases with mild to moderate crowding and no bite relation discrepancy. Selective recontouring of the dental enamel creates the needed space for alignment. The treatment follows a series of retainers fitted approximately every 3-4 weeks.
Ceramic brackets are a more aesthetic option for adult patients who have public or social professions. They are also a great option for students who are involved in the dramatic arts. Normally they are not recommended in cases where contact sports are played, as they are slightly more brittle than metal brackets.
Metal bonded brackets are the most common orthodontic appliance used, accounting for approximately 60% of treatment cases. They are strong, and allow for playfull colours for our younger patients. Specifically the Microbond brackets are small in size and low profile, ensuring less lip discomfort.
The Carriere motion appliance is a comfortable, less invasisve bite correction appliance used to correct non-surgical Class II overbite and Class III underbite relations. Depending on severity, the appliance is fitted for 3-5 months at the start of treatment, whereafter the fixed brackets will be fitted to complete alignment and finalize the treatment.
